About Me
Kamryn Funk, originally from Edmond, Oklahoma, is a graduate from Chapman University with a BFA in dance performance. She has recently worked with Jana Thompkins, Kayla Kalbfleisch, Doug Varone and Dancers, Jacob Jonas The Company, and Au.thenticity. She has recently performed at the Laguna Dance Festival, Orsolina28, World of Dance, Carnival, Club Jeté, Reconstruct, &when the heart opens. She was awarded at the Journey Dance Awards for outstanding choreography and has taught over 700 students nationwide. Kamryn plans to continue traveling to teach, choreograph, and perform while pursuing her dance career in Los Angeles.
Artistic Statement
As a little kid that loved to put on dance shows, entertainment has always inherently been a part of who I am. Coming from a competition background, my work as a choreographer explores the intersection of modern and fusion styles, drawing inspiration from my competitive dance background and current artistic pursuits. Through choreography and performance, I aim to create visceral experiences that resonate with audiences on both physical and emotional levels.
